The Discovery
The story of Bioscience Peptide Complex and the foundation of Puraveda Organics goes back to 2006. While on a business trip to the land of Himalaya & Ayurveda, India, we “discovered” an Ayurvedic topical formula that promised to give results similar to conventional (injectable) Botox treatments. Due to word of mouth from fellow travelers we decided to give it a try.
The results were surprisingly good and so we tested it out on friends and relatives, and in short order, we came to believe this product could revolutionize the beauty industry here in the Western Hemisphere as well. Back then, the concepts of Natural, Clean Organic Beauty were in their infancy here in the US, and Big Pharma and Big Cosmetic Corporations had the corner from an advertising and public awareness perspective. The costlier the better, right?? (Hint: Not at all!)
To make a very long story shorter, we eventually partnered with an Ayurvedic chemist here in the USA and a peptide lab to produce a more improved product than the original, as our @PVO version had 100% organic and/or Sustainably Harvested/Free-Trade Wild-Gathered botanicals (not available here in the USA), and included no synthetic dyes, perfumes, parabens or synthetic toxic chemicals, whatsoever.
Why This Skin Care Revolution is So Important to Us?
We have seen many clients aged 35+ who want to reduce the appearance of fine lines and other signs of aging, who have no other alternative than opting for surgical methods or injectables such as fillers and Botox. Having personal experience, we understood the expense, time and money lost, not to mention painful injections 3-4X p/year.
We also discovered that this formula could greatly extend the results from conventional Botox injection therapy and even found it was very useful in thickening the collagen layer in older skin (particularly on the arms) prone to tearing and bruising, and this works especially well with chemo patients who frequently have degraded skin quality due to their medical treatments. Not only does the formula thicken and strengthen the collagen net that supports the skin, it also has a peptide (the same one that is in Botox) which slows synaptic response and which are the underlying cause of wrinkles and lines, coupled with collagen loss for repetitive facial expressions.
Improvising The Original Formula
As mentioned, the most important Skin Active ingredients in our BioScience are specific ‘Peptides’ commonly known as Matrixyl and Argireline, (actually brand names from pharmaceutical companies), but are more correctly known as Acetyl hexapeptide-3 (Argireline) and Palmitoyl tripeptide-1/ palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 (Matrixyl300). When combined in a 10:15 ratio, these peptides can boost collagen by up to 110%, actually reducing or repairing fine lines and helping slow or prevent the formulation of new ones. Combined with our Ayurvedic Super Botanicals, the skin is not only thicker and less wrinkled, but has increased blood flow and ‘turgor’ (tightness or springiness), rapidly becoming smoother with less discoloration for a far healthier, more youthful appearance and glow.
As some of our earliest clients will recall, we originally named the product ‘Aryu-Deva BioScience’. As we continued to upgrade the formula, based on the latest science we included crucial ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid and plant-based growth factors.
