Before opting for a clinically proven Organic Rosacea Treatment, here are the most common myths about rosacea that you should be aware of:
Myth 1: Rosacea Can’t Be Treated at Home
Today it’s possible to manage Rosacea at home with the right skin treatment. The earlier you start, the better the results. While it’s true that there’s no complete cure for Rosacea, here at Puraveda Organics we recommend our time-tested Pitta Skincare regimen. Proven to minimize rosacea flares, and eliminate redness and flushing of rosacea skin, our SBR Skincare Regimen is a unique 4-step organic formula that can be used by anyone.
Myth 2: It’s a Form of Acne
Rosacea appears as small, pus-filled red bumps on the face (especially on the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin) that may look very similar to acne. While acne is usually a temporary condition, rosacea is a genetic condition which often becomes triggered when the body’s immune system is compromised. Both these conditions have very different treatment protocols.
Myth 3: Keeping Your Clean Skin Will Prevent Rosacea Outbreaks
While many believe that cleansing regularly along with exfoliation prevents rosacea, there is no evidence that cleanliness alone will keep rosacea away. The flushing that occurs is a result of internal inflammation that causes blood vessels to dilate and become visible. Harsh cleansing products can in fact aggravate the condition.
Use our mild SBR Cleanser to remove pollutants and hydrate the skin without side effects. Follow up with an Organic Hydrator from our SBR line for best results. Remember Topical Serum treatments are necessary to prevent redness and flushing.
Myth 4: You Should not Exfoliate Rosacea Prone Skin
Most rosacea-prone individuals avoid deep cleaning their face out of fear of causing breakouts, redness and more skin irritation. One of the causes of Rosacea is overgrowth of Demodex mites on the skin. Dirt, overgrowth of microbes, clogged pores and unhygienic skin care are also linked to trigger rosacea outbreaks.
Exfoliating skin regularly ensures that the pores remain uncontaminated. This also allows the skin to breathe and heal.
Use Microbead-free Papaya & Honey Exfoliation Mask to deep cleanse pores using natural enzymes and botanicals (no physical exfoliators). Apply only 2-3X times a week for best results. Don’t over exfoliate and do a patch step on first time usage.
Myth 5: Mild Rosacea Heals on Itself
Lack of care, unfortunately, makes Rosacea more unmanageable with over time. Dermatologist-prescribed topical medications and PVO’s Organic SBR Serum Treatment (the ‘Big Gun’ in our SBR Line) works as an elixir for Sensitive, Blemished and Rosacea Skin. Botanicals like Neem, Comfrey, Horsetail, Bilberry, Green Tea, Sea Buckthorn, White Willow Bark and dozen of other Cold-pressed Organic Oils in the formula eliminate the underlying cause of redness and irritation. Myth 6: Rosacea Sufferers Shouldn’t Use Anti-Aging Serums
Anti-Aging skin care can be a challenge for people with Rosacea, especially for those over 40. Most OTC anti-aging topical formulas contain harsh chemicals such as retinols which can cause hypersensitivity with rosacea. Contrarily, Ayurvedic anti-aging ingredients like naturally-derived Peptides (Argireline and Matrixyl), Hyaluronic Acid, Allantoin, etc., when used in a scientific concentration, are gentle to enough be used on rosacea skin. Use both BioScience Peptide Complex and SBR Serum to combat Rosacea and other signs of Aging.
